The survey and data capture of Pluto, a 9000 tonne 90m long subsea structure was one the first major asset laser scan projects in Offset’s history. It combined point cloud laser scanning in conjunction with the (at that time) more usual photogrammetry solution. The result of the hybrid solution was a standardised data set that allows the client engineering team to both visualise and measure the structure as well as a documented record of the jacket before a barge launch onto its seabed location off NW Australia.
