This case study highlights the long heritage & diversity of Offset’s experience in pioneering laser scanning & 3D model building. In the late 1990’s, Roger Dean was commissioned to design a sculpture for a proposed theme park in Malaysia based on the legend of Agarta, a lost city in the earth’s core.

A 1:40 scale model of the proposed design was hand designed and produced on behalf of Roger Dean. Offset scanned the model with a laser scanner that today would be considered a museum piece. The survey and model build in AutoCAD plus mesh generated assisted the spatially evaluation of the structural steel concept.

Offset also provided valuable marketing material in including a fly-through video and high definition still images.
