This project involved the installation of a second jacket, North Rankin B (NRB), and a connection by a 100 metre bridge to the existing North Rankin A platform (see Gas Production Platform case study). The North Rankin 2 Project will also include necessary tie-ins and refurbishment to the North Rankin A complex.

Offset’s involvement within this project was to undertake a photogrammetric survey and capture the 22,000 metric ton NRB structure in several stages during its construction onshore Indonesia. This allowed engineers to visualise and measure the structure as well as provide a documented record of the jacket before it is deployed on the sea bed. The dataset will be implemented into the Woodside AVEVA NET portal for use with the subsea inspection engineers.
