Railway Station Facade Renovation
Client: Powers & Tiltman
Location: Crewe, UK
Prior to a £6m overhaul of Crewe railway station, Offset completed a colour laser scan survey of an active platform. The survey provided accurate as-built information of the historic station built in 1837.
The scan data was supplied using Leica TruView to allow engineering teams to take reliable 3D measurements. The survey was carried out, processed and delivered to the client within days allowing the regeneration of Crewe railway station to proceed without delay.
Design engineers used the scan information to accurately plan how to proceed with the renovation, allowing areas of the platform that were dangerous or with limited access to be viewed, measured and designed from without risk.
