Offset Services Limited offer a complete turnkey as-built capture solution.

The process begins with the recording of existing conditions, which are surveyed and photographed using photogrammetric techniques.

Once captured, the results can be delivered using a number of methods, dependant on the project requirements.

This can be through the highly intuitive Smart Image Databases, which can link into multiple separate asset data sources and can be accessed via web portal technology or as a standalone intranet solution using MaganJr. Offset can also provide the results as complete intelligent 3D models, which are suitable for a variety of engineering purposes.

Available Smart Image Database Items

Smart ImagesSMART Images are location and asset aware photographs that provide an undisputable photographic archive of the existing plant. When the photograph is on-screen, plant assets will become highlighted on the movement of the user's mouse. By using unique plant tag numbers, this information can be integrated with the Data Management Portal (VNET). This enables quick, easy and complete documentation retrieval for the asset selected on-screen.

Smart Measure ModuleSMART Measure Module uses discrete pairs of photographs, from which accurate measurements can be extracted directly from the smart image. These measurements can then be used to check and mark up existing drawings using the portal. An online demo version of the measure module can be found here(Internet Explorer Only).

 

Smart Images IndexSMART Images Index provides a list of photographs containing a particular asset, from many differing viewpoints. Smart Images are listed in order of asset coverage on that particular image. Clicking on any image opens the relevant full size Smart Image or the Measure Module facility with that image.

Smart Image Navigation Models3D Smart Image Navigation Models provide an intuitive method of accessing photographic documentation. Camera icons within the 3D model indicate the position and orientation of available photographs relative to plant items. Clicking on any camera icon will prompt VNET to display the relevant Smart Image.

 

3D Models 3D Models can be built using the Smart Image database. See the As Built 3D CAD page for a fuller description. Streaming technology enables very complex and large 3D models to be viewed rapidly on your desktop browser; a true digital replication of the plant that can be explored by virtually "flying or walking" through the plant. Objects within the model are tagged and are thus related to other documents accessible via the portal.
