Plant Upgrade and Maintenance

Client: Fabrikom
Location: Grimsby UK

The client was undertaking a Front End Engineering Design (FEED) study of a plant modification where the engineering design was being developed prior to the detailed design and construction phase.

FEED is essential because it helps to identify potential issues and risks early on in the project, which can save time and money in the long run. It also helps to ensure that the project meets the client’s requirements and expectations. By investing in FEED, companies can reduce project risk, improve project planning and execution, and ultimately deliver successful projects.

Offset were engaged to undertake a comprehensive survey of the existing “as-is” state of the plant using photogrammetry and other survey techniques to accurately record the area for the clients FEED.  The primary focus for the 3D as-built model that was produced was to record overall spatial occupancy and  specified tie in points.
