Company History

Offset Services Limited is a privately owned limited company with one major shareholder.  It was formed in 1983 to provide contract service labour to the oil and petrochemical industry.  In 1986, the company developed and established an as-built data acquisition survey service.  Since 1986, the company has successfully offered a cost effective service, it's as-is and as-built data acquisition survey techniques to modification engineers in the nuclear, oil/petrochemical, pharmaceutical, pulp, paper and metal/mining industries.

Various large contracts have been successfully carried out in all industry sectors which have been innovative and financially rewarding.  In all cases, the cost of re-work to the client was dramatically reduced.  The financial contribution from the company's trading has been re-invested in the development of a new as-built data acquisition software suites primarily developed to replace conventional stereo-comparators.  The software suites known as MAGAN (3-D Modelling package) , MAGAN-JR (Visual Database software) and MAGAN GATEWAY (Asset Life Cycle Management)  are modern engineering software systems.  The systems are totally integrated, incorporating digitised photographs into a computerised imaging system; acquisition of two-dimensional data from photographs into three-dimensional graphics; transferring data successfully into other design systems.  Working tolerances are usually within +/- 5mm, however, using the latest laser surveying technology, more accurate three-dimensional data, to within +/- 2mm, has been provided such as for tie-in points.

In the future, it is the foresight of the company to retain the position as market leaders in as-is and as-built data acquisition survey techniques with its associated service work. The new software system is fully utilised to provide as-is and as built data to the nuclear, oil/petrochemical, pharmaceutical, pulp, paper and metal/mining industries in their modifications and re-work.

Through it’s marketing arrangements, the company will sell a complete system directly to clients, available with supporting consultancy and training provided by Offset Services Limited technical staff.

At home on a continuing basis, the technical engineers of the company will continue to develop and support new ideas on how to handle three-dimensional data easily and swiftly, including the portal and gateway technology of Asset Life Cycle Management, including the Hosting Arrangement of it.

All personnel working on systems provided by Offset Services Limited are engineers familiar in piping, process and structural engineering environments.

It will be the continuing policy of Offset Services Limited to produce as-built data for engineering companies and to remove the "black-art" philosophy from as-built data acquisition and to turn it into a useful and powerful total solution engineering tool.
