3D As built CAD Modelling

Our 3D model solution starts life as a Smart Image Survey capturing the real condition of the project. Using Magan, geometry is accurately generated using the Smart Image database. The 3D modelling is tailored to client requirements. The level of detail, specification driven modelling and item naming have the capacity to be customised.

Interfaces To CAD packages
Data from the Magan 3D modelling system is transferred into other 3D systems through a neutral file. 3D Model Import software interfaces for AVEVA (formerly CADCentre) PDMS, Microstation, PDS and AutoCAD are available.
Accuracy
In practice, measurement accuracies of +/- 5mm can be achieved from the Smart Image Database, where the digitised images cover a region of around 2.5m across. Smaller photographs can produce greater accuracy and larger images will reduce this figure. The Magan software package will report on accuracy achieved for any given measurement, this information can then be appended to any item modelled. Where greater accuracy is required, such as flange tie in points, survey techniques can be employed to capture positional detail to +/- 2mm.
